From a previous thread:

Mr. Fountain was also very pleased with the performance and handling of the 26 footer powered by the Mercruiser 496 HO. He said “the 26 was showing 71 MPH on the speedometer with a half a tank of fuel and that he would be able to price the boat affordably with a slight up tick forthe enhancements”.

As a former employee that's pretty appalling...

It's up there... but it is only an MSRP. In addition, the MSRP at the bottom of the pages is for a boat with only standard features and a 300 HP 350. The fountain sheet shows that price is with the 496 HO.

Regardless, MSRP and the actual price that a boat will sell at have been growing farther and farther apart (at least for most boats).

Although, this price (for the 23) seems to be quite an up tick.

Yeah u are right about standard being 300HP 350 but damn it still seems high - even more than the "standard" 26. And considering the "deal" with Mercury to supply all the engines you would think the MSRP wouldn't be THAT far off.

I'm really hoping to see the brand continue to be priced affordably for the average consumer looking for some performance, and for Fountain to improve the overall product.

I guess time will tell if this is possible with profits being the key to everything...

Say that a good deal is 20-25% off MSRP. That 23OL would go for 66,400 at 20%. That is more than my 06 242 and an 07 242. Also when I bought mine, there was an 06 25 OL for upper 60s and a 275 for about 70K.

That was what I was getting at. It is priced up were the bigger models were.

I wonder where the hammer x is going to come in at. The hammer and 20OL should be for the people wanting to get started without the big accounts, but I am afraid those are going to get out of reach too.
