FYI...I read up on the subject and Stabil Red seems fine for gas with up to 10% ethanol; more ethanol is where green kicks in.

Seafoam is liked more by some.

I use red StaBil and it never let me down.

When I lived up north in Illinois, I used Stabil (red) as a fuel stabilizer when I winterized the boat, and put it in motorcycles, lawnmowers, etc. when I put them away for the winter. Never had a problem the next spring. I used Sea Foam as a fuel conditioner and water remover all year round, even in my diesel truck. Worked great, again never had any problems.

StaBil also keeps injectors/carbs clean.

I have always used red Stabil for storage. I do like seafoam for fuel injector cleaning, motor fogging in the 2 cycles, etc.

For sitting one winter, about 6 months, I have always used nothing and never had a problem.

Fuels have changed a lot in recent years. A $10 investment at the end of the season could save you thousands if you run the motor on degraded fuel and suck a valve or burn a piston. For what stabilizer costs it not worth the risk. A lot of shops, the one I currently work for included, make a lot of money every year because of degraded fuel.
