Lake Mead ??????
#3
I went out 1 time last month in a Maxum I have lised there. Water was a little cold but other than that we had the whole lake to ourselves. I hadnt been to Mead in a while but I think I wll be heaing that way a bit more this year. It was very clean and being only an hour out of Vegas. I can get in trouble for spending too much time boating as well as loosing all my commisions at the table. I like to plan ahead for the big fights!!!

On a slightly different note. I was looking at possibly moving to the Henderson, NV area. Being close to Lake Mead, I would be there a lot. I saw a picture in a magazine that showed water levels really low out there. Are shallow areas popping up? Rocks? I don't want to be afraid of taking out a lower unit every time I go out.
With my luck I finally move out there and there will be water usage issues. More serious than currently, that is.

Approx. two years ago the water elevation was at 1215.0 ft. The Feds have been lowering the lake ever since. The lake is now at 1174.5 ft. elevation. I have heard all kinds of stories as to why the lowering of the lake, you just don't know what to believe.
The average depth of Lake Mead is probably 250-300ft. in depth. It is one very DEEP lake. In fact Mead holds more water than any man made lake on the entire continent of North America. So yes, there are islands popping up , but they are well marked with buoys. You still have one hell of a large, deep lake in which to go boating. Hope to see you out here!
