Hello Folks,
New to the forums and new to my Scarab 22 and was wondering if I could remove the guts out of the exhaust tips.
It has 3 allen bolts on a flange that you can remove and a center stud with a nut.Would this create a problem with water going back throught the exhaust? I just want a little more noise.

If you're talking about the actual corsa flappers that close off the hole for quiet mode, no. As long as they're centered at open while it's in "open mode" then there will be no gain or reason to do that and it'd be pretty wasteful.
If you're talking about the counter balanced flappers further back in the tips, those are to help keep a large wake from entering up the exhaust while you're sitting still and not expecting it as it slaps against the transom of the boat.
Unless they've failed, I see no reason to take them out because it won't get any louder that way either. You could set up dry exhaust for more noise or you could up the power. Keep in mind that depending on where you boat, it may be nice to keep it quiet once in a while if the cops are writting tickets. That scenerio is getting worse; not better.
