Heard from several boaters the news, and read on Berlin Raceway's site, Cathy was killed in a car accident. Sad, she was very nice. She took the time on one occasion to spend an hour explaining the Party Store Business to me prior to my opening this past spring. Thanks, and God Speed .... MR

To clarify, Cathy owned Performance Engineering in Grand Rapids. She built boat motors, performance motors, and circle track motors. But she also owned a Party Store in Holland MI.

Midnight, it happened oct. 11. Very sad to hear! She was a great women. I just worked at her shop a month ago, we did some new engines for a sea ray.
Sounds like her husband Tom is doing better.
Dave wesyldyke (spelling ?) worked for her for a number of years. They did the jaws boat and several others.

I have known Cathy for the past 8 years or so. She was always kind and I enjoyed talking with her---I was surprised to hear of the bad news. It was her husband (the late Mike Weed) who started Performance Engineering back in the late 80's/early 90's or so. Dave Wesseldyke left and went on his own after Mike passed away in early-mid 1990's.

If I'm not mistaken, I think PB did an article on Kathy a few years back if this is the same person. I recall the article talking about her continuing on her husband's love of engine building. The article was done very nicely.
Sad. RIP Cathy.
Sad. RIP Cathy.

She did the macine work on my 2 engines this year.
