I have the twin 350 MAG set up. The port engine is staring to use oil and getting tired. Time to rebuild, any suggestions as for boosting the H.P with in reason ( 385-400) HP. Does anyone know a shop that can do it right? I can pull the engines and have them shipped. i live in Austin Texas

I used Eddie Young (Young Performance Marine) for the work on my ZX. He is in Tn. His stuff comes with a warranty. He rigged my boat like a $500m boat and it runs in the 90's. Well into the 90's. I will be happy to send you some pics. He has also built some bad ass small blocks.

I have only heard of a rumor of one smaller ZX going faster but have not seen any proof.

Did you do anything to the hull of the boat. I have heard the the 28 ZX Hull will only handle 70-75mph. After that they chine walk to bad.

It is all a matter of the setup. I will post a few. Pm me your address and I will send you a whole bunch of pics. Mine is a 26ZX. My friend Brian has a 27ZX. That was the first step hull Donzi made. It is actually the same size as the 28ZX. The next year they called it the 28ZX. He was told not to take his past 78 or he would get wet. His is a single that will do 90 any day.

I know of a twin 28ZX that runs in the high 90's. Brian Rose has seen it.

We have been having a great time with these old ZX hulls. They will handle bunches of power. There is a 26ZX on my lake with the same paint job as mine. It is a 65 mph slug. I get these guys in Baja's that confuse me with that guy. A couple of them have some pretty fast boats. I let them run with me to about 75 then I drop the hammer and go flying by at 85 or so. The look on their faces is priceless.

Each one of his engines somes with a build/spec sheet and dyno detail. He usually uses a MEFI -4 on his EFI engines and they can be maintained by a merc mechanic. He showed me some dyno sheets on a 350 mag he did. It made 458hp. His engines have a warranty. Check out boatfreaks and you can see a couple of 1,200's he is building for a Skater.
