Default good intake for dart heads ???

I'm looking to purchase a intake manifold for my dart iron eagles 308 BB heads, should I buy a dart, brodix or merlin intake. By far dart cost the most but is it the best. Thanks alec

Default intakes

I would use a dart single plan air gap style intake, that s what i have ,i had a edelbrock air gap and i gained some mph and rpm out of the dart, but the dart was also port matched to my heads.

We have had exceptional results and great feedback with the Dart intake, alot of people really like them for the power and the Brass water jacket. Let me know if I can help http://www.cpperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=3913

CP,
I think you meant the Merlin intake with the brass inserts (same as your link). From my dyno testing experience, he Brodix HV-2001 and the Merlin make very similar power. We think the slightly more expensive Merlin offers the best value due to the brass inserts.

That depends on what has been done to the engine and how many rpms you want to spin it.

I would go with a Performer RPM Air Gap in that case. You could also just play with some carb spacers.

I doubt an intake change alone is going to be worth that much. At best, probably 10-20hp which translates to 1 mph.

What engines anyway??????? 454/502mags that have been warmed over??? Have you upgraded the stock exhaust??? cam????

Yes that is what I meant, good catch Very similar manifolds the dart and merlin, at one time used to be the same company I believe. I would agree in saying the Merlin offers the best value in a salt water application.
