Default Removing dipstick tube, Chevy 5.3

Hi, I swapping out both my exhaust manifolds on my Tahoe with a 5.3 due to sheared off rear mounting bolts. I guess it's a common problem, anyhow I believe that the dipstick tube needs to be removed to get the passenger side manifold off due to a support bracket that's tack-welded to it going through an opening in the manifold casting. I'm assuming the tube is pressed into the block, any tips on removal and also re-installation? Thanks! Steve

spray some PB Blaster on it and slowly turn it back and forth while lifting it out. Small turns is all it needs. Then to reinstall, same thing only push.

Double check that, on a 6.0 I had the tube was bolted to the block.

Thanks Scott, That's kinda of what I figured, I did spray it with Liquid Wrench and tried twisting it gently with a pliers but it hasn' t budged, any other "Magic" ideas? Steve

Work it in a twisting motion with vise grips. Dont crush the tube. If you need a little more persuasion tap on the vise grips with a hammer.
