BIG CHIEF 2.40 intake & 1.900 exhaust having super mod port work done go with the Berylium exhaust seats- anybody tried them with good sucess ???

The seats are actually a Beryllium Copper alloy with only a very small percentage of Beryllium. They are supposed to dissipate heat very well so should be good in a marine application. I doubt that there is any danger from machining them unless you are using sanding rolls and breathing the dust as you go. Most machine shops use carbide cutters to cut the seats anyway. They do seem to be a bit softer than steel seats.
