Ok I can get a new engine at cost from the dealership but will I have problems using these in a marine application? My engine builder looksed at the specs for 30 sec and said we would need a new fly wheel and a short circulating pump and make sure it has a place to bolt on the mechaincal fuel pump.

FYI I am replacing my 330 hp 454. Seized the crank and have a sleeved cylinder.

Do a search on marine vs auto here on the board. There are alot of differences, cam, clearances, etc. You should find plenty of reading. I have a low hour Merc 7.4L I will let go fairly cheap. Let me know if you are interested

Need to replace the freezeplugs (from Steel to Brass).
All the gaskets need to be changed to marine standart.
Usualy if you built a marine engine the lash on everything is a little bit looser then on a car motor . But thats not a major thing.
Depends on how hard u run it .
A car engine is not made to run at 5000 RPM all the time . A boat does if u run it WOT .
