Default "In the News" Another boating Scam!

Approximately 6 weeks ago I was contacted by a saleswoman from "In the News". The saleswoman tried to sell me a Plaque of my raceboat for only $140.00 I declined her "great offer".
Last week I recieved an invoice from "In the News" for my Plaque. I assumed this was an attempt to get me to accept the plaque. I placed the "invoice" in the garbage.
Today, Federal Express shows up at my door with a box from "In the News". I refused to accept the box. I'm also glad no one else was at home to unknowingly sign for it!
Isn't this similar to how "Boat Pix" opperated?

Isn't it true that you can keep an unsolicited item received in the mail as a gift?

My company is a direct competitor to "In The News"

They are a good company but they do send you product without your bleessing on the hope you will just keep it and pay the bill

This is why we provide an e mailed layout (If interested) so you can see what your plaque would look like if you wanted it via just opening an attachment im your mail

"In the News" is a good company and they have a good reputation (well deserved) that dosent sound like them as a rule

If you want to try somone a bit different see our web site www.headlinesdirect.com I have done alot of work for people on this board and most people here know me

I have had several plaques made for me by both "In the News" and "Headlines". I was always completely satisfied with the service and product quality of both companies, however I do prefer doing business with Marc and Headlines. He has always gone the extra mile and you are not just dealing with a salesman on a commission. He owns the company and takes a great deal of pride in what he is doing. I can relate to that!!

It's not the products I'm complaining about, its there unethical business tactics I disagree with. First, I tell them I'm not interested, then I get an invoice for something I never ordered and then I have Fed Ex at my door with something I didn't want???
Didn't Boat Pix use this same business model??? Everyone on here slammed them.

It is why we send an email rendering of the product (If requested)
I would not send a bill, or a plaque unless the customer wanted it.

If you ever need one done give us a shout

Dave,

Thanks for the kind words

I have used "in the news" several times and have never had an issue. Maybe an oversight on their part.

Fast Shafts,

If there is anything I shot that you need a plaque of, by all means let me know. I offer that as one of my options. I have a highly qualified company that makes them for me and is seroius about their fit and finish ...

They also are a serious oso member.
