Question Project boats. which lay up is better? Kevlar or Standard Fiberglass?

I am pretty much over kicking around the idea of redoing a 39 aronow cat because after talking to a guy that setup 3 or 4 Aronow 39s with yanmars, he said 50mph is a realitic top speed with that setup. I told him about the guy running the merlin turbo diesels and seeing mid 60s and he said it was possible if the engines were triple turbocharged? So anyway, 50mph ain't gonna cut it for the amount of money needed to bring this project to life. Oh well!

But as far as project boats, what are the pros- and cons of kevlar vs standard glass layup with an emphasis on 15 year old boats?

Thanks

a 50-60mph cat.........

seems more like a dog to me

you might be better of dropping thos yanmars into vee of similar size. You will get more space and see similar speeds.
