Fresh or saltwater? Freshwater I would say stock Merc unless you are looking to lose some weight in the stern. Saltwater I would go with Stainless Marine manifolds/risers. Another option is a set of take-off 496 MAG/MAG HO manifolds/risers. I believe pre-2005 are aluminum manifolds. Risers are stainless regardless of year.

We offer several different brands for you to choose from, the Gil/Hardin setup would work excellent on your application. You can see that system here. We also carry other brands that vary in price such as Stainless Marine, GLM, Dana, and IMCO. Let us know what price range you are looking for and I assure you we have something that will suit your needs.

Thanks,

Best bang for the buck would be the 496 take offs as Knot4me said. You're not gonna see a lot of performance gains anyway with an exhaust mod on a stock 330hp.

Teague has had them advertised in the past a lot for low$$$

There is a set just posted in the classifieds. The ones in the classified are priced about double of what they should be IMO. Also, call Teague Custom Marine.

No-the only problem you might run into is if you have 3" tips...The take offs will be a 4 " exhaust.

I paid $350/pair for new take offs just a month or so ago. In the process of polishing the risers.

Default Exhaust

Was wondering about a exhaust upgrade for my engines. I was considering the alm 496 manifolds, would there be any trq. or hp gain over stock iron manifolds? I have 496(stroked 454) dart pro 1 310cc alm.heads edelbrock rpm intake, hyd.roller, 750 marine demons with merc. stock wet exhaust with accesseries it dynoed at 600 trq 500 hp. Should I consider aftermarket , or the 496s and what should I expect to gain? thanks Dan
