xr parts 1.35 gears wanted

I have an xr lower with vertical shaft only. I need to rebuild with 1.35 gear set and prop shaft. Does anyone have parts etc. Is the XR Lower the same as any Bravo 1 lower???
Do I need anything else for the lower as far as parts go.
Thanks for any help

No.

XR's have a larger propshaft than a std bravo.

if you want a 1.35:1 ratio, you'll need the
15-17 gear tooth count

XR ratio changes are done in the lower gearset.

Cocktails,
If you are going to mix and match the XR/B1 lower stuff there are few things you need to know. You can install B1, 1.36 gears with the small B1 propshaft.
If you switch to the XR propshaft, you will need XR 1.36 lower gears and billet bearing carrier. The bearing in the carrier is different than the B1. The hole in the driven gear is larger on the XR gears.
Hope this helps.. and makes sense.

I have two used sets of 1:35 lower gear sets for xr. The ad is on here somewhere with pics. Here is the link. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...gear-sets.html

Thanks to all for the input and advice. I will have a set of 1.50 gears from the lower after I change to 1.35.

Does anyone need a set of 1.50 xr gears. ????

Is it an easy swap to pull the 1.50 gears out and replace with 1.35 gears. Can I do it myself without special tools and or shimming the drive correctly. etc. I was told the Lower is fairly easy and simple. Any thoughts.

If you want it to last you need to set it up correctly, and that requires special tools and a dial indicator. You will have to shim the gear set and set bearing preload. Way don't you change props instead?

I have purchased a new XR 1.35 and I am building anther XR from a lower that I bought that has a 1.50 gear set. I was running B1 with 1.36 gears so, trying to stay consistent. I am assuming you are saying I should not attempt to swap gears as I have never done it and don't have the tools.

That's correct Cocktails.. you need to have the tools to set it up correctly. Unless you are ready to invest in them and learn the process, it is best left to one with experience..
