I have 2 brand new 496 carbed engines. Never started.

Eagle crank and rods. L-19 bolt upgrade, SRP pistons. 9.6:1 compression. Custom Cam. Merlin oval port heads. Valve upgrade, Comp springs, Stailess rockers, magnum pushrods, custom carbs, air gap intakes, 10 quart oil pans, powdercoated brand new tins, stainless lines, fuel pumps, air cleaners & accesories inclued.

15K for the pair and I will inlcude palleted freight to a terminal near your area with insurance to value. Making room and paying bills. Call with offers etc.

Would also consider an unpowered, CLEAN, rigged, single engine boat on trailer for trade, or other things.

Can install these and provide warranty for additonal money. Can get good pricing on CMI's to go with them from my local supplier.


Will also include freshened Merc TBIV ignitions and wires. Your choice of wire color as I would have to actually order these. MSD upgrade available at cost. I will install for you.

I do not have wiring harnesses for these engines.

What generation motors are they?

IV. They started life as freshwater 420 Mercs. Very clean water jackets, and well seasoned blocks. The original plan was for these to be personal engines when I built the shorts, then they were going to be sold and that is where the accesories came from. Guy defaulted, so I still have them. I probably have around 15K in them. Can't build them for that. Make me an offer. PM Me an offer. I need the cash right now. I can always build them again if I need to. Might cost a little more, but it is not looking like I will have a use for them inthe near future.

I have a pair of 540's that I can rebuild and sell for a few dollars more. Don't have any pics as they are still in pieces. I won't negotiate as much on them as I will have to spend money to build them and these are all ready mostly finished.

If you wouldn't have beaten me to the liquid that you just got, I wouldn't have hesitated to put these 496's in it and maybe a little NOS bottle from time to time while I saved my money to re build the 540's.

They are really nice engines.

How fast did that boat run with 525's?

I know you said a single engine boat you might be interested in a trade? I have a 78, 30' Scarab just re-rigged in 08, had 2-468's and TRS drives. Boat is complete with Imco exhausts and external stearing, 280 K-Planes and new TRS gimgels, cockpit cushions redone and drop down bolster frames included. Real nice hull. Could use top deck painted. All new dash gauges and controls on 2001 Aluminum I beam trailer. Just a thought. I am going to hate parting this thing out. Did 82mph with the 468's with small B&M 177 blowers.
