1987 Wellcraft Nova Spyder Reconstruction.
This boat has not seen water for over 10 years!
Project progress will be posted if you guys have interest.
The hull is in decent shape. There is the normal dock rash and damage for a 22 year old boat.
There are many holes in the topside to be filled and a few stress cracks in the usual places.
Plans are for a shaved smooth finish with a silver base and possibly some blue based graphics.
A new engine hatch is also planned, I have considered capping and shaving the rubrail but that decision will be made further into the project.
I am also selling off parts removed to help pay for new parts. This is a very low budget project, donations are accepted
These pics are how the boat arrived before any cleaning or dismantling.

After closer inspection we discovered the transom has a little rot and the motor mounts are soft also. To replace the transom and motor mounts the bilge liner has to come out, in order for the bilge liner to come out the cockpit liner has to either be cut up or removed completely. We have opted to remove the cockpit liner as well. This will ensure all stringers and the rest of the hull has no hidden damage.
More to follow.....
Special thanks to Glass Dave for a little technical advice!
Also, thanks to those of you that have already purchased some of the old parts that will not be reused.

May,,,Maybe you shoulda just bought mine!!! JK, good luck with your project. After owning one for 5 years, I would suggest getting the CR drive on this hull. Its kinda annoying to have to "torque-stear" our of big waves at speed!

Since it is the holidays I have been playing with the fun stuff (If you can call fiberglass work fun)....
Working on my idea for custom blower vents. What you see in the pics are the molds pulled from a plastic replica. The molds are still being prepped. This is my first attempt at making molds so I am learning as I go.
Next is a little more prep and then shoot some gel on the molds.
I am also still entertaining the idea of converting this boat to a single TRS (or #2
) and a BBC. Any suggestions?

Now, back to the nasty stuff!
Finally got the liners out of the cockpit and bilge, I found a 5 gallon bucket full of scum, grime, dirt and crap under the liners.
I should gain 5 mph due to the reduced weight! Lol...
I also discovered even more damage & rot that will be replaced... Fun...
The wood structure of the bilge liner is completely rotten and waterlogged. Also the bulkhead between the bilge and fuel tank is rotten along with a break in the glass.

Lots of cleaning this afternoon..
I went ahead and stripped the cabin. Found lots of spare change hidden and some long lost jewelry hidden in the corners and behind the cabinets. No diamonds though..
Also found several mouse/rat nests, hopefully they were long gone and not relocating into my shop
...
Again, more dirt and grime......
Still digging, will be cutting out the transom next.....
