Default Active Thunder 32 vs 33

What is the physical differences between the 32 and 33 AT's? I've been on the 32 Audacity, just awesome!

Wondering how the 33 differs besides a foot longer and vented hull? Is it a taller boat? Cabin differences? Sun pad? Cockpit? Basically, what's it got more of?

What year did they start making the 33? Just caught my attention now that it showed up on the Sonic product list as a 34'. Just curious, I sure don't need another boat at this time!

I've been assuming AT is still in business?? With the economy, are they?

Mikebrls, Fountain SC.... NICE Boat!!! I remember blacking out at the boat show when I got on one and made the mistake of looking at the price tag... Still..... NICE!

AT is still in business and doing just fine.

2006 was the first 33AT, and its owned by slboatdrinks here on OSO. Its Remedy, and is also for sale.

The 32 and 33 ATs are RADICALLY different. The 32 is a straight bottom boat. The 33 is a 9/10 scale build of the proven 37 Single Step DDC hull.

The 33 has more cabin (area) room and headroom, freeboard, and cockpit space compared to the 32. The 32 does have a bigger engine compartment than the 33; slightly.

The Sonic 34FE is an outboard only model that is a joint marketing venture between Sonic and Active Thunder; specifically targeting European markets.

What do you consider a big price for a 33 foot boat capable of doing 90+ mph?

Both good boats! ( I have to say that)

The 33 is exactly 33' and the 32 is really 31'6". When I built the 33 I used the 37 for a model or plug as it is referred to and left the cockpit the same size. That's the big advantage. Of course the DDC step bottom enhaces the ride and performance.

You looking at a used 32? If you need any help PM me or e-mail me at patrick(@)activethunderboats.com

Don't let Lenny see you over here.

Merry Christmas.

Pat, just curious on Sonics new site is that you behind the wheel of that Sonic 34 HP? Does this mean us Sonic guys can hang in the AT forums? Merry Christmas to two exceptional builders...
