I am looking at a Mirage 270 INTIMIDATOR and trying to find out some information on MiRAGE boats in general. From what I read, it looks to be a lower end boat?
My first clue should be they listed the boat under MARAGE INTIMIDATOR

I'm a member over at nwoffshore and own a 1990 257 Mirage.
They aren't low end boats. The 27 Intimidator is a very capable offshore boat with 24 degree deadrise, hand laid hull and the hull'deck is bonded with methylcrylate and inner linerin the cockpit. Usually fitted with Gaffrig controls and gauges.I think they used AME4000 , gelcoat looks good without print through. My hull is black and still shiny after 19 yrs.
My friend had an all red 27 with twin 383 supercharged
and loved it.They're under rated on the east coast because it's a west coast boat from Washington state. What year is it? If you can get it for a good price go for it.Here's a picture of my 25'7" Mirage .That's my bud's 35 Fountain behind it.
My dash with the original Gaffrig gauges and the two new SmartCraft since engines were replaced with 6.2 MX's in 2004 .

Like others above said, they are good boats. Like any boat you are considering check it out thoroughly and have fun if you get it. I've never owned one but have ran a few that we maintained at the marina I worked for at LOTO.

Hey Jim, Been a while!
I think Mirage builds a decent boat, see a lot of them running down here in St. Louis. If the 270 came from the 26 Nova hull, then it's a solid hull. I just traded my 26 Nova and hated to see it go... heck, maybe you should look at it!
(BTW, thanks, Mark Bentley, for the survey referral over on SO... I was very happy with Don's work.)

I hope you bought a bigger boat then! The one I am looking at has twin 454's. I need to see it in person, people always say Ya the Gelcoat is great on the boat.

1BIGJIM , most 27 had twin 454's installed in them.
I saw one for sale in Penticton BC two years ago for 29K. It needed some TLC on the upholstery but the black gelcoat on the side looked nearly perfect . I would have bought it in a heartbeat if I didn't already have my 257.The 27 is more of the old school type compared to my 257 which has wrapped around windshield , built in swimgrid and a totally different bottom with a delta pad. The headroom in my boat is exactly 4 feet and that's about what you'd expect in the 27. These earlier Mirages were built very strong for rough Northwest conditions , never skipped on materials. Last ones before they went out of business in 2002 had somewhat skimpier on the upholstery vinyl and maybe on some construction/rigging methods that I don't know for sure.
My bolster seat is still steady as a rock on the floor and it was built as it should with machine screws going into backing plates inside the seat base.
Here is a shot of my interior .

On plane

I have Marine Machine hydraulic external steering and K-planes
