I'm thinking of getting a 44 SS (2000) w/ triple 500 EFI's and less than 200 hrs. Wondering if anyone has had one or similar and any opinions..good or bad.

Sonic never made a 44SS but rather a 42/45 SS.
If it was the Shogren boat you are talking about I went to the Bahamas on a poker run in July and that boat was there. It was absolutely spotless when I saw it last summer. The boat ran good and has a killer bimini top that covers the whole cockpit.
It is a nice boat but will feel like a sled compared to a 29 Formula and you will surely miss your 5 year Formula warranty when those 9 year old triples start giving you trouble.
It also is missing a generator which was pretty standard on big cabin boats like that.

Thanks Jupiter....ya it's the 45 from Shogren. I was wondering what top end is, and like you I'm very skeptical on the 3 engine deal...I see A LOT of problems, and all bad! As I said..just looking

seems like alot of boat (headache) for the money? Not for me, but might be a good deal.

One engine or five does not matter. A problem is a problem. The 500EFI's are a proven motor that can go more than 500 hours without problems if you take care of them. The boat runs 80MPH and is in very good condition. The boat is for sale for 119K on a trialer which is a great deal for a 45 Sonic.
