Angry Beware of Circuit City's Bait & Switch !!!

I just tried to get a 19 inch monitor from them with their going out of business sales. Priced advertised all week was $161.99.

New discount this week is advertised 20% off monitors. That would make the monitor $129.60. When questioned at the register they come up with a price 143.99. I told them their new math does not work for me.

They refused to sell the unit to me for the $129.60 so I walked out. Of course the manager went over and raised the price on the unit to 179.99. Before he did any of that I had taken pictures of the tags.

BUYERS BEWARE !!!

Bring you calculators if you need them !!!

Yea very typical in retail, sad part is the Manager probably is the one who did it.

As stupid as it is, I purchased some Beef Jerky at WAWA (gas station chain) price was $2.50 when they rang it up is was $5.50 lady argued with me so we walked over to the shelf, I was right and she sold it to me for the advetised price, I quote, she said "chit, this happens all the time" ".

that place is a joke right now i mean really, how stupid do they think people are? I was looking at new laptops the other day and went to best buy to check out HP webtops (mini laptops) and they were priced at $399. Went across the street to see if CC had any deals and they had the exact same webtop for $419 marked down from $459 . . . . wtf? looked around the store and all thier marked down chit was just marked up an down chit and there wasnt a single thing i could see as a deal. Funny thing is i ues to buy from the regularly, the one by me usually had good prices. go figure . . .

all of those big box stores have been playing games for years. Another thing most people do not realize is some of the products they carry are made cheaper for them. I mean they have lees expensive parts like memory and internal parts.

Usually, the liquidation company takes over the store. They mark eveything up before they offer their discounts. This is a standard practice when closing a chain. There really are not any deals to be had with their merchandise. Store fixtures such as ladders, cabinets, etc is a different story.

another popular trick, they all advertise they will beat anyprice on an identicle item or it's free, or if you find it advertised cheaper somewhere else after you bought it they will refund the diff for 30 days etc.. most of the bigger places get a lot of stuff thats 'unique' to that chain, a very slight deviation from the other place but it's still a diff. mfg part # so you will never find the same thing cheaper as they are the only one that has it.

When our CC closed up in Dec, we found items cheaper ar reg. price at BB compared to the 10-20-30% off at CC.

My father in law called me tonight.. He went to a boat show in Harrisburg, PA.
Tells me he looked at a Sea Doo boat... ( I said for what??) He tells me that the boat 23' Challenger/SE with twin motors, total hp510 .. I said how much... He said boat show special with a trailer, was 54k and they would let me tow it away for 48,500....
I said WHAT??? I just seen them in an advertisesment I got. I looked at an add I got just the other day from a jet Ski place that works on my Jet ski's... IT Reads

2009 Seadoo 23' Challenger/SE 510hp MSRP 36,499
Come See and SAVE BIG!!

I guess the Trailer would be the other 12k..

Now wonder some of these dealers are going under!!
