During the worlds in Key West this past year, JBS Racing set up a Fund Raiser for our fallen and Hurt Brothers of Offshore Racing. What ever happened with the funds that were raised? Were they ever distributed?

I forgot about the fund but I'm not worried about it and hope that, they never have to use it. I am sure that the money collected for the fund is there, for the future and as for myself don't want my money refunded. I never, ever, gave it a thought, about the money collected by JBS Racing, infact my hat is off to them and anyone who donated to the fund, for trying to do something for the racers and/or their families if something ever happened. I also hope that they will continue to race as they have built a beautiful and fast boat in a short amount of time, to give the Miss Geico Team and Aqua Marine some great competition and for giving us race fans more great racing to watch.

I agree, I don't want to have to see the fund ever used also, however, the reality is, we had some tragic accidents occur last year, and this and other funds were set up to assist those family's who had losses or who were hurt. Me and a friend of mine were one of the first ones there at the JBS fund raiser to give and I must say, during the time we were there, surprisingly there didn't seem be very many people donating to the cause. I know there were several funds such as this set up, the question was, when are disbursements going to be made to the family's? I am not trying to sound callous, but my best friends unfortunately were a part of what these fund raisers were set up for. In closing, I would like to say, God Bless the victims and their families of these tragic accidents. I hope the 2009 race season, is a safe one for all.

You are so right they do. I have not heard from any one else regarding their needs, however, BobbyB sure could use a little help also. As you might remember, His boat was totaled and is still in and out of the hospital undergoing surgeries, not able to work and does not have an income to speak of. JBS and Geico are both CLASS ACTS, if anyone can lend a hand, it's those two professional teams. All of us do appreciate the help they given for all the racers and families alike.

GEICO (Haggin ) has pledged 1300.00 to assist the fallen racers families. We will work with JBS to make sure those in need are taken care of.
