I don't remember if I read this or if it was info from a Mercury marine tech, but I understand the 2.5 racing outboards in the future will only be sold to the F1 boats and the 300x will be phased in to the stock class due to the new EPA regulations that will outlaw the 2.5 racing outboards. Any Mercury marine techs on here to confirm or deny this. Any help will be appreciated.

What a slap in the face, if this is true... It took me a year to rerigg the boat for 2.5's becuase of a limited budget and gearcase failures. I could have left the 300 ProMax's on and race at a lower HP.. If this turns out to be creditable F#@$ racing. I can't afford to buy and sell outboards and rerigg

Cat Attack do you have a STOCK boat you plan on racing, what kind of boat do you have, do you plan on racing APBA or SBI?
I haven't heard of any such plans for the stock class, I don't think that type of change is going to happen anytime soon. If that type of thing did happen I think it would be a decision made by Mercury NOT APBA or SBI.
