Default Best Strainer for sand.

Want some first hand experience on who has used what with what kind of results.

I always had STAINLESS MARINE ,,,and never had a problem.

But i quess they are pretty much all the same .

I like that they are easy to open and clean out.

Ditto on SM. Lots of port options and easy to maintain.

Who just came out with the Sand Strainer last year? Latham I think? I know I saw an ad on it.

The only one that I know of that is fine enough to catch all the sand is the Hardin sand strainer, but it is made for intercoolers. Any sea strainer that has a screen fine enough to catch sand won't flow enough water to supply the engine. I don't think any of them will truly catch sand and stop it from going in the engine.
