I'd like to find a good used Bravo drive to keep as a spare.

Other then the obvious condition and history whay else do I need to know about finding a match? Gear ratio?

When rebuilding drives can I find stronger then stock parts?

Like everything else on a boat your wallet is the limiting factor ! See Mr. Gadgets on the drive form and I'm sure he can set you up with every thing you need. Plus he is not that far from you.

If you are looking for a drive that will bolt right on ration is the most inportant thing.

If you are looking for a drive that you can swap parts from to the other it a little more involved.

One of the telling points of the drive is the drain plug for the gear lube on early ones it was on the front of the bullet and then they changed it to behind the prop. You will want a spare drive that matches what you have then if you blow a lower you can just swap lowers versus the whole drive.

It was my understanding that Bravo drives are easily reversible (change rotation). If so I do want to have one spare drive for both sides. Is there any info for matching according to Model #, casting #, serial# as examples or any other indentifying info. For example... The drain plug seems valuable indentifiying characteristic. Would the location be specific to only one drive? Or could that be a common unidentifyable characteristic for a variety or drives? I hope my questions make sence.

the bravo rotation is set in the cable shift linkage so you dont have to worry aout a specifice drive rotation They are all the same in the Bravo
