CHIP FENDT OFFERS BOAT BUYING SERVICE
Expertise to Assist Boat Buyers
Expertise to Assist Boat Buyers
Sarasota, FL - Marine high performance industry veteran, Chip Fendt, is “taking his show on the road” from Sarasota, Florida, to wherever he is needed, to assist boat buyers. Like a realtor who acts as a buyer’s agent, Fendt will assist clients to make the right decisions in choosing a boat to buy—whatever type of boat that might be. Having worked for marine dealerships, manufacturers and brokers all of his career, Fendt recently represented a customer in a boat deal and realized that he had found a niche necessary in today’s market.
“There are so many choices in hulls, power, propulsion and creature comforts, and so many people who are not sure what they really need or want in a boat,” said Fendt—“Even if they know what they want, they are not sure what they should be paying, if they have a trade, what they should get for it, what brand of boat is best suited for their lifestyle, their families, their speed preferences—there are just so many variables in this important investment decision—including financing and insurance. And if they are custom-building a boat, I’ve worked in that realm for years and can help them learn from my own and others’ experience. I’ve ‘been there and done that,’ so I can assist a boat buyer from the beginning of the process to the end. It’s all about good fit.”
As a World Champion Offshore racer, who grew up on the water spent his 30-year career with manufacturers such as Talon, Donzi, Hustler and Outerlimits Powerboats and for a time, worked with Suncoast Powerboats brokerage. He sees performance boating as his specialty, however, with much of the “go fast” market exploring center console fishing or sport yacht boats, Fendt has also had much experience operating and working with manufacturers and dealers in that market, so his expertise can cross the spectrum.
In addition to helping a customer purchase a boat, he can also teach a new boat owner the nuances of his or her boat—driving, docking, maintaining and storing it as well. He can be available to accompany the owner on Poker Runs or Rendezvous so the owner can concentrate on enjoying the event with friends and family instead of having the responsibility of being the sole operator of the boat.
“I truly believe this is a service that is long over-due,” states Fendt, “People are tired of internet searches, incessant phone calls, pitches from different dealers and manufacturers and want to cut to the chase. I can be the ‘go-to guy.’ Many women are buying boats now and feel that they are not taken seriously. When a buyer walks into a manufacturer or dealership with me, they will feel more comfortable and confident in what they want. Manufactures know me, dealers know me. I am honest and fair and want people to feel like they are being counseled and coached in this big decision—whatever it is the buyer wants is what I will do for him or her. My mission is to be your guide, coach and counsel—there is no such thing as a great deal on a boat you don’t love!” he adds.
“Chip saved me thousands!” says Joe Vassallo, his most recent client, “I thought I knew what I wanted in a boat, but Chip helped me refine that and made it affordable and fun—he’s exceptional—I couldn’t have done this deal without him!”
Fendt is available by phone or email and a new website, www.chiptheboathunter.com is under construction. For more information call 941-586-1808 or email [email protected].

Its a good idea but a good dealer should be doing this job, note I said "good dealer".
Now if his services include a extensive survey, and inspection, could be money well spent if someone is looking in preowned market.
