Jason was the navigator when they set the fastest lap record in New York, not the driver. Either way, it should still be good for the publicity of the sport.

it will be good for the sports publicity

BUT

Being that this is his first race boat doens't it seem kind of crazy he is will be driving a 42' supercat?

wouldn't a P class or F1 or F2 be a better place to start? Not to mention safer? I guess reggie will be on the sticks but still....

SINCE MY CHANCE OF BEING IN A SUPERBOAT IS PRETTY SLIM.

(" STILL WORKING ON IT" ) I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE ON BOARD CAMERA. IT SHOULD BE A RUSH AT 150MPH

If your paying attention you'll notice that SBI is looking like it will become a major player this year. New sites, new classes and prize money for P class boats.

From what I understand, the SuperBoat Class will now closely reseble the SuperCat Class. What I mean is that Blowers will not be allowed. This should allow for teams to race with both Sanctioning bodies using the same equipment and built to the same specs.

As always in SBI the SuperBoat class boats will be the priemer class.

SuperV will also drop the blowers and be the second premier class.

The four engine Superboats will still have a place to race but clearly they are a dieing breed and will be the 3 highest ranked class. I would imagine that these ranks are for TV purposes.

Also, SBI local classes will now offer Bracket Class racing using the P1-5 designation. SBI, P Class racers will participate in prize funds.

We know that the Muscle Racing Team and Pier 57 have commited to run the SBI national schedule. Now this new team too??? Who else???

We really need that star factor back in this sport like when Don Johnson and Chuck Norris raced. It can't hurt.

As for starting out small and working up. That would make a lot of sense, but how can he go down when he has already been at 170mph? Plus with Reggie the learning curve will be high.

Good luck to this new team and welcome to the wet and world of Offshore Racing!

I wonder if Jason has seen that little video clip than runs on every Fountain boat show promotional video?:

<Reggie, as he passes a boat driven by a Hollywood actor>:

"Bye-bye, MOVIE STAR! <Derisive snort>"

Oops.
