I am just about finishing the restoration on my 88 10 Meter. I haid it laid up since 1996, long story. It has 52 original hours. My mechanic tested the tanks for leaks, checked out just fine. Have them pressure tested, and if they are good, I would redo the boat.

I never heard of fiberglass tanks except for in the Skaters. I do know that the factory told me years ago, that some of the older boats had some fuel tank issues. Fountain had the tanks made from an outside source untill the early 90's. Then they started making them in house, and once they did that, there were no more fuel tank problems. It's not that expensive to replace them if you do it yourself, but it IS a big project.

I have pictures of the 88 10 Meter, but not on a disc. My friend has a new 42 mTI and he just loves my boat. Thinks I should put it in hot boat. I have to finish the cockpit, Joey Griffin just dialed in my carbs, Will take pics and post most likely in April. I bought it in 1996 with 48 hours on it. Went through a divorce and some other issues, so had it laid up. Perfect hull, no hook or anything. Carbon fiber, new 540s, paint, complete. I think Reggie would be amazed by the boat.

I have an older 81 model 33. I replaced both tanks myself about 10 years ago. Like a few others I did it myself. It was alot of work cutting the floor out and removing the tanks. Glad I did it when I bought it. Still got it, Ive spent alot on it but just love it !!! great boats !!!
