Looking to haul the boat down there for the July show and wondering where is the best place to watch from the water? We'll be staying on Orange beach and running over to P'cola that morning.

Show is on the 11th so it looks like you'll miss it unless you go early. Bring the boat anyway though, its a great place to do some riding.

If you get there early enough and can get a spot at the boardwalk, you have several bars, Bamboo Willies, and a Hooters and are right across the street from "Center Stage" of the show on the beach. Just go under the Pensacola Beach Bridge and follow the traffic south in to the boardwalk. You can go into the area on the West side of the bridge and raft up but be careful and watch the tide schedule because if it runs out you may get stuck on the bottom (been there, done that!). If the outside is calm, you can go out of Alabama Point in OB and run east to P'cola or go inside (lots of no wake crap near Theo Barrs Bridge) and run out Pensacola Pass, hang a left, drop a hook, put out a drift line, jump into the water and watch the show just off the beach. The PD and the USCG will make sure you don't get where you are not supposed to be. What ever you do get there early and plan to stay late, and have a sober operator and all safety gear required as every enforcement boat in the area will be there.

If I can be of any other help let me know. Enjoy your stay in Orange Beach.

Hope this helps,

b2b

Thanks! Unless its unusually calm I think we're planning on rafting up near the bridge. Am hoping it will be smooth enough to run outside on the way over there. Will probably stop at one of the islands in the ICW to hang out on the way back.

Oh yeah, I'll definetly enjoy it. Love boating down there. Would move over there in a heartbeat if there was more petrochemical industry.
