Does anyone own or annually rent a marina boat slip in Michigan or the northern part of the Midwest? Any recommendations for nice marina's? I currently have a small Scarab, but will likely be jumping to a larger offshore hull in the relative future, so I prefer marina's that can access both big and small water. Any thoughts?

I live about 35 minutes north of Ann Arbor near Fenton. Anything in the lower penninsula is fine with me. The nicer the lake/marina, the farther I am willing to drive. Seems like only the west side of the state and up north have good access to both big and small water (ie Spring Lake). The price is right in the Saginaw bay, but I don't know much about the boating for smaller rigs.

There is basically nothing available in the Traverse City area unless you find someone with a mooring or privatly owner dock or lift.
All the marinas on the east and west bay have waiting lists for seasonal wells. You could get a transient well for up to two weeks.

Wharf Marina in downtown Grand Haven, MI. Best in/out service around and can also help you with a slip. Only marina in downtown. 2 summers ago they hammered down on the noise but last year wasn't so bad. I think it was that wonderful governor we have looking to get money some way. We have a lot of fun and have a big group of offshore boaters. Every weekend is a blast and I make sure of that. If interested give me a call.

Thanks for the advise.
CJ - I'll have to come check out the marina. Regardless of where we primarily boat, we always end up in GH a couple time a year. Could the Wharf rack store for the weeks or weekends that I'm in town, or can you only workout the whole season? Can I put in at Wharf or would I need to use the state launch. Thanks.

For a smaller boat you might want to try an inland lake like Higgins Lake. They offer slips for summer storage with a hoist for $1300 and they put in/take out hoist for you and store in the winter. You are limited to the lake itself but there are some mid 30's boats that boat there and the South Higgins Lake State Park is the chit all summer long. Call 989-821-9313 Ext 227 and ask for imformation about Gerrish Township Park Marina or go to http://www.gerrishtownship.org/
