Default 2nd battery placement

Hello Guys, I have a Scarab 22 and I am adding a second battery and was wandering where you guys put yours. The first battery is on the port side and I thought of putting the second one on the starboard side for weight distribution. On the directions for the perko switch it says keep the battery cables as short as possible as I will locate the switch under the bench seat. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is on the starboard side, and I am going to add the second right next to it in order to counter act the torque of the engine. Not sure if that is correct thinking or not, but the torque of the engine does cause a slight list to port.

I would mount it on the starboard side for balance and to counteract the engine torque.
