Well I've had a lot of great advice on engines on here. Thanks to those who have given advice.
My question is I am unsure about putting 13 k into my 96 outlaw..... I had the boat appraised at 32k canadian with alum trailer last fall. just to give you an idea of the shape it is in..
The boats are selling for about 30% more up here than the US IMO..
My thoughts were to buy a 500hp fresh rebuild. Running a brand new bravo X drive. new gimble and berring..
boat is in really good shape..
I guess I need some people to nudge me one way or the other..... is it worth it...... does 20 or 25 mph make a huge difference..... or should I go with a blower and ramp it up to 85... again .. would it be worth it..

Just my opinion, but in the US market, it seems any older performance type boat is hard to get rid of.
If it were me, I'd sell the 24 for 17K, add the 13K, ad for 30k there are some really killer deals around!

That is the best advise, for 30K cash you can get some great deals.

I have a 1993 outlaw 24. it was a custom order boat and i bought it from its only owner. anyways, i am repowering the factory 502 (which was custom ordered for the boat). dont, forget about the power you have. you can acheive 500 hp on a 454 too. the drive i would not worry about. a bravo can handle so much. i ahve a buddy with a hustler slingshot with over 700 hp per engine on the factory bravos. they have yet to break. in the river the boats dont jump or catch air. that is one of his theroys. dont jump ait and it wont break. and also he is always easy to plane. dont beat that drive and it wont break. and when i say "over 700 hp" i mean like 750 and up. you can see my some of my build on my "questions questions questions" under Q&A on these forums. good luck dude. and i started like you i about threw my hands up and now i cant wait to get back in it.
