The 12th annual Tom Maynard Memorial Poker Run is in full swing this year and registrations can be found at SMLBA.com. The poker run will be Saturday May 16th with the pre-run party Friday night at Mango's Bar and Grill (Bridgewater Plaza, Smith Mountain Lake, Va). Captains meeting will be saturday morning with the run to follow. You are responsible for your accomodations which we recommend Bernard's Landing as the majority of the boaters will end up there after the poker run for the rest of the evening and night after the poker run. That includes Friday as well. Separate festivities from the Smith Mountain Lake Powerboating Association (SMLPBA), not to be confused with the Smith Mountain Lake Boaters Association (SMLBA) who is putting on the poker run, will include a Friday raft-up as well as the after run party. My 12 year old will be of no interest to your 14/going on 20 yr old......the younger one.....she's in trouble, my 10 and 7 yr olds will be all over her!!!

This sounds like it would be a fun time, but I don't think I can make it. I'll keep it in the back of my mind though - sounds like a perfect way to kick off the summer.

This might be a great stop on my way back up from picking the boat up in FL.
