Default Did Chief build a 25'

The other day I saw an add for a Chief 25' outboard for sale. I was not aware that they made one. Did they?

I believe Apache produced a few 24 or 25' boats, I would assume this is the same boat.

Only 2 boats had the "Chief" name on them as of the last go around. One was a 42 which still bears the name and is for sale in the OSO Classifieds. The other was 37 feet; and is no longer a Chief.

After I asked this question in March the boat was removed from Craigs list. It has reappeared on Ebay.

Is this really a Chief, or is the seller full of it? Looks more like a BRT.

The HIN appears like it could be correct. If CEF is for Chief Powerboats. Next 5 digits are boat serial number and it would be #00001. The last 2 digits, 00, are the year.

That is a 24' Monza, look at the threads about Monza and the pics of mine are exactly the same and that was 1985.

I remember back in'95-97 when Bobby was still on 188th St. he was designing and strating to lay up a 24ft. . In fact in '96 I believe crb76 and I where at the factory and saw the first 24.

By the way what was the deal with the 37 chief/Active Thunder? What was that joint venture?

Chief and AT were going into business together, but that was VERY short lived. Not sure of the exact details.

The Chief & Active Thunder thing was a brief "marketing marriage" to where Pat (AT) would built 33 & 37 foot boats to accompany the 42 & 47 foot offerings that Bobby was building.

The companies were always to remain separate entities. Basically, Chief was going to OEM the 33 & 37 ATs.

The whole thing fell apart VERY quickly, as soon as the money & Chief fell apart. The 37AT with the Chief moniker was re-branded a 37AT and is with a very happy owner in PA.
