Default Clear Powder over Engine Components

I am thinking of polishing and then clear powder coating some of my Aluminum engine components? Itmes like valve covers, blower case, etc. Maint reason is to help keep clean and not have to polish so often. Anyone tried this or have any opinions or suggestions?

its fine.....but will dull the look a bit and it may chip easy because there is no etch for a bond
