I am a newbie and have found a 1991 21' Stryker for sale with a 502 in it. I read what had been posted a few years ago and it seems like a good boat. The price is really good. Please help!!! Any advice appreciated.

Stryker bought Bob Hammond's 2150 Hammond mold,it was a 21 Challenger by George Linder hull, not a pop.Bob paid George for the running surface mold and built his own deck.Arguably the finest 21 vee ever built, many copies still built today. The Strykers were identical, since they came from the original molds. Build quality varied quite a bit,the early boats were terrible. I bought 2 of the earliest, both hulls split lengthwise along the pad and sank.Later boats were excellent but it took the builder awhile to get it right,as they had previously only built cheap bass boats.About the time they really learned to build them right, the company folded. Molds are still in Hazel Green,AL,for sale last I heard, along with the 38 ,31,and a neat little 12'HotDog type mini sport boat.

I appreciate the advice and the sales offer. I looked at the boat and there were a lot more motor issues than the owner stated. It seemed like he was trying to cover stuff up while we were there.

I had an 89` and that thing was a POS! It sank several times, almost killed me when it hooked coming off plane and just shoddy workmanship all over the boat. But, it was scary fast and loud and chicks dug it.
