I bought a pr. of used Mirage (not Mirage plus) props from a reputable prop dealer in Fla. When I tried to install them, they did not slide down far enough onto the spline to get the nut retainer onto the end of the spline. The dealer told me that I need to remove the thrust washer- the Mirage props are "self centering" and don't need one. This make me nervous about having the prop eat into the back of my lower unit- does anyone know for a fact if this is true or not?
