Default Peanut port, low compression, 454

I have an peanut port low compression (7.85?) iv 454 w/ a flat cam. The boat is a 4200lb 330hp w/ an alpha drive. With the alpha drive I don't want to add too much power. A builder recommended the Edelbrock perfomer cam as a replacement for the low compression peanut port motors.

218/228 duration
500 lift.

is this an ok cam for marine use? Just looking to duplicate the original 330hp rating or slightly improve on it.

You may have reversion concerns depending on the lobe sep and overlap if you are running stock exhaust. You could just go with the standard GM Merc 454 mag cam. Its a .220/.220 and .510/.510 on a 115 lobe sep.
