Scarab hull number location?

Scarab hull number location?
The H.I.N. is supposed to be on the right rear of the stern, right? If that cannot be seen, are there alternate locations for the #'s? I'm looking into a 84 scarab 38. The owner says the #'s are not visible on the back?

Maybe the 38's are different, but my 30 is right where you said. I've owned several Wellcrafts and they've all been there.
I would look hard for a repair in that area.
