Default 525 EFI Upgrade

Starting to get my ducks in order for the upgrade of my stock 525 EFI's, would like to get them up to the 625 HP mark and would like to see what ideas or combinations are out there to stay with non whipple stock EFI components. I have aquired a spair set of stock heads to get reworked and wanted to see what would be the best combination.

Dustin, can recal your brain and a few hundred rpm's more and you'll be there, most 525's are 540-550 hp stock

You need to call Tyler Crockett. He has two packages for the 525 that will get you more than 625hp with stock ECM, Merc Heads, Stock exhaust and intake. He is in Michigan too.

Koszonom szepen. Always good to meet another Hunky.

What is a whipple reflash ? is that a supercharger progam setting on a standard N/A motor ?

I just got a extra set of 525 heads to get port worked and go from there, will be next winters project since we are pulling the motors apart anyway, so might as well bump up the HP.

The Merc computer codes have been cracked. There are several ways now to bump the HP. I am told that they can be stretched to 700 HP without supercharging!

Right, but only in Washington, North Carolina, and only good for 8 laps!

Wink The Truth Need not Hurt!

Sorry to rain on your party guys, but there seems to be a misconception in the performance boating community that there is all kinds of hidden horsepower to be unlocked with performance marine engines with simple ECM reflashes.
The truth is Mercury racing has programmed the HP525 to its best horsepower at its rated rpm whre it will live! Unless you go into the engine and start making changes to cubic inches, cams, heads and induction system you are not going to see magic horsepower with any ECM reflash, anybody who tells you such is blowing smoke up your bung hole!

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar
