Default Anyone Know this 38 Scarab?

A friend of mine in KC found this Scarab on Tulsa craigslist. It is apparently a 98 with no power. He received some additional pics, but I can't post them cause I didn't pay for a new subscription The cabin looks clean, but the cockpit looks thrashed. No power. They're asking $60k. That seems a bit pricey to me in today's market. Anyone know the boat?

There is a 96 in the classifieds here with fresh 525SC's for $75k. I think I'd look at that before I'd look at the mess you are looking at there.

I sent that link on to him. I'd agree. Even if he paid asking on the 96, I think he'd come out money ahead!

It looks like one that was at Uglys for a couple yrs. If it is that one, the person that had it at the time that it was STOLEN was in need of motors because on blew up or sumthing, also stripped all gages out. Then when they tried Ins the chit hit the fan and that is why it is like it is now.

I also heard it was a shady deal.

I remember that boat that was there. It was at Ugly's out West of Keystone. That was 5 years ago when I looked at it. No cover, no power, no gauges. The guy (Jason Smith, not me the salesman there) said it was a theft recovery. Found it at a truck stop that way.
If it is the same boat, I'd steer clear of it. 5+ years out doors, uncovered is just asking trouble. Hell, the floor is probably rotten along with who knows what else.

I think that is the one. The pictures that I have show not only the gauges missing, but the panel they fit in are gone as well. I'd bet it's the same one. Nothing like $60k for a stripped boat that's been sitting for years!

A match would be appropriate for it I think.
