Default Prop size for 600HP

Please only been there done that suggestions…………………………………
…………
Ok I need a starting point. 23' Wellcraft Nova don’t have any Idea on what prop to start out with This is what I have 4000# deep V cuddy hull with a DYNO 502 640HP at 5800 and 624TQ at 5000 without accessories. Bravo 1 with 1.5 ratio. I ask Throttle Up they had no suggestion on props they only do CNC props. Therefore, do I want 3, 4, 5 blades, what hub…what pitch and labbed or not and what brand?

Probably not too many people with that exact combo. You might want to call Brett at BBlades.

If it were me, I'd start with a stock Bravo 1 26P 4 blade; and have a 28P on hand.

What prop did you have on the boat before upgrades? 3/4 blade?

As I stated you want high rake props, like a Bravo I . If your drive height is original then 3B or 4B props will be the ticket. Your drives need to be pretty high to run 5B props.

It was a basket case no prop and a 290 HP small block
I have a 3b 25 Mirage that cam with the Bravo 1. I don’t want to go out spin over the 5800 + to max rpm to find out I don’t have enough prop. Which some non-experts say I will be 6000 + on the Rpm with the 25" prop.

So why not throw the 25 on it and see what happens?? It would give you a good starting point.

A 28 pitch Bravo 1 would be a good starting point. Use BBlades test program.

I spin 5000rpm with tuned B1 26P props behind 6.2 bone stock engines with 1.65 D/R . I'd start no less than 28P with your setup.

Ps; Kidnova on Speedwake has a 23 Nova with 502 .Less power but could give you some pointers on prop selection.
