I had an oil leak thru the remote oil filter. The water/oil mix left a grey mucky mess all over the engine compartment. What is the best cleaner? Simple green was OK, but everything is still sticky and slippery. Any suggestions??

I used something called Bilge Bully I believe.

Zep floor degreaser...watch it though its strong, will eat aluminum anodizing if it splashes onto it.

Oh yeah - the ZEP citrous products are awesome...., and yes they will eat paint if left on for any lenght of time....

Spray-Nine

Clorox Clean up. It will cut the oil and not hurt anything else.

I make a mess every time I change my filter (SBC Volvo Penta, way in the back) and I have decent luck with Purple stuff Autozone and Advance Auto sells.
