Default SBI Marathon PHOTOS

It looked like the race was gonna be a washout for a while, but the weather gave us a break.
Thanks to Rick (rchevelle) for letting me tag along on the Pantera- a fun boat,
but the bolsters were kinda tight for my big azz. Wish we had brought umbrellas.
The sun came out around lap 7 or 8 and it was all good.

I shot this year from the gulf side.
Some of the long range images are hazy because of the mix of moisture, heat and exhaust in the air.

It was nice to meet more of the guys I talk with here -
the Hard Rock team and the Rockstar crew as well as all the old friends.
All in all, a great weekend- see you guys at the next one.

Here are a few of the pix, and the whole set is here.

Nice pics Jay,

Wish we could have gone to the Atlantic side also, but the weather wasnt looking so good, too bad it found us in the gulf anyway.

We were on Cumberland this weekend to watch the OSS race. Everything about the event was well set up but the lack of boats in most of the classes just killed the event. Of the four couples that we were with for the Saturday heats, none of them even bothered to go out on Sunday to watch the finals. They reason most of them gave, "There just weren't enough boats to make it interesting."

I bet 90% of those same 14 boats will cross over and race in " sarasota & keywest , to get in on the CBS TV coverage .
I hope they do anyway .
