Im looking at a basketcase meteor, the motors are in good shape, the boat needs all the outdrives, needs an interior and paint job. What would something like this be worth??? is my question, If anyone could tell me that would be great, I dont want to buy something that I would endup putting more money into, than just buying one all together and ready to put in the water. the guy im talking to about buying this boat wants $20,000.00 out of it, I love the look of the boat and have wonderful ideas about what to do with it, but im to close to it, and wouldnt want to get in over my head, thanks for the help everyone. have a great day. If you will like the outcome and satisfaction of doing your own project, go for it! I you goal is to come out close to even when you want to sell, you need to change sports!
If this boat was free, the added investment for a triple drive train, new interior and paint will likely exceeded the market value. It will also be difficult to sell as the 50' sport cruiser market is small.
