Default Livorsi Gauges

I have 2 redline Livorsi fuel gauges in a twin setup. In the off position the needles rest at different levels. I was wondering if this was normal ? One gauge is one year old and the other is brand new.

Flip senders or gauges to see if there is a sender issue. They should be the same.

How do fuel senders work? If their is no power to the gauges then shouldn't they rest in an off position? Why does it matter if they are hooked up to the sender when they are de-energized?

Do they read the same when the key is on??? That is really all that matters.

there seems to be some hysterisis in all these electric instruments. all my gages rest somewhere other than zero when they shut off. as soon as power back on they zero and then work normally.
