Default Who has tried a ex race canopy cat as poker run pleasure boat

Just wondering who has tried having a ex race canopy cat as a poker run/pleasure boat ? Think of changing from my Nor-tech and trying this out. Any advice would be appreciated.

The Jag used to be full canopy. I tried to talk my wife into keeping that way. After she crawled into the cockpit, it became abundantly clear that either the canopy had to go or I'd be boating without her.

I did it for two years. MTI race boat to Poker Run boat. I converted it to a partial half top removable canopy that could be on or off either way.
The pros are: Looks bad azz, no wind, no sensation of speed, safe.
The cons are: unbelieveably loud, headsets are a must or your ears will hurt from the noise, can not see very well, hot, hot, hot, wife hated it.

I converted the boat to a full pleasure this winter. I like it this way now.

Brad

That interior looks good It was still a work in progress when I was there. Is that a new project next to your boat there?

Love mine, but this is not our only boat. It is only the milk getter when we are out on the Azimut...

The vision is terrible. Forward is fine side vision is limited but acceptable, rear vision is zero. I had my fun with the canopy but will never do it again.
