Default 500hp with msd boxes ??

my 500hp i just refreshed and powered up are carb motors with msd boxes spinning 30 bravo 1 and it sounds like im in a revlimiter at wot at 5550 to 5600 if i back out a bit to 5300 or so all sound great. with the msd boxes do they overide the rev limiter or not ,,still stock ignition system and im thinking i need a bigger prop now.

The Msd box will not over-ride the stock rev limiter, the marine box has it's seperate rev limiter that you add to it.

You rev limit had already been modified. The stock rev limit on HP500's is 5350rpms. I'm not sure what was changed originally to increase the rev limit.

in most cases, just being in possession of an MSD is like having a limit on your revs... often set at zero

He means the MSD boxes tend to go bad a lot.

87 at 5500 and in rev limiter hard, with 30 labbed bravo 1s, need a set of 32 to try, my prop slippage is high as well with the 30s.
