Default High Oil Temp...2000 32' fever

Hello All,
I have a 2000 32' fountain fever -twin Mercruiser 502's.
The engines in my Fountain have oil temp gauges. One of the gauges runs hot 240-290. I replaced oil cooler, oil sender, oil temp gauge....still no luck..
Can some please help...
Thanks...

This is a post from the other owner on this boat. When we tried to read the pan temp we could not get down far enough to get a reading. We took a reading at the remote oil filter, reading at the block, and going to attempt to take a reading from the oil dip stick. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks

There is a larger oil cooler -- its a few inches longer, looks like it will fit easy, same mounting and hoses. It seems Mercruiser made the oil cooler longer in 2000 or 2001.

I have a similar problem, and I'll be ordering that cooler soon. About $300.

The larger cooler:

Part number OCL807372T. Its $150.

Also, on mine, I had horrible problems with cooling, at one big big improvement came from NOT getting the intake water through the Bravo outdrive. The water flow goes through many oddly shaped passages, and they can very easily get clogged by junk and by corrosion. Get "offshore pickups" or, probably better, thru-the-bottom pickups like on typical powerboats. The thing I don't like about my thru-transom pick ups is there is no way to close the thru-hull -- if there is a hose failure, I'll sink.

Remember, cooling is all about FLOW, not pressure. You can have lots of pressure and little flow, so little cooling.
