Default Garmin gps/nema

I have an older gps garmin 130 map, it only wires I use are the power, sounder and antenna, the harness also has a nema in and out. What would they be for? They are maybe 20-24 gauge wire.

I think you mean NMEA.

The blue wire is the TDX+ NMEA out, to go into any NMEA device. The brown wire is the RX NMEA in, from any NMEA device. The black wire would be used as a common ground to and from such devies.

It allows your GPS to send and recive data , to other devices, using the NMEA protocols
