money into the coffers of Middle East countries that support terrorism. Just
buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from these countries.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the
tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family,
and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil
companies are the best to buy gas from.

Major companies that import Middle Eastern oil (for the
period 9/1/00 -8/31/01).

Shell 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco 144,332,000
Exxon/Mobil 130,082,000
Marathon 117,740,000
Amoco 62,231,000

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Citgo 0 barrels
Sunoco 0
Conoco 0
Sinclair 0
BP/Phillips 0

All of this information is available from the Department of
Energy and can be easily documented. Refineries located in the U.S. are
required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.
They report on a monthly basis.

Keep this list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying for
terrorism.

Thanks for the info. I will use this as a decision maker this season, however I think price is going to play a big part as well.
I thought that BP & Amoco were in bed togerther though somehow. Any confirmantions anyone?

OK, I just did some quick research.

Last year Phillips/Arco sold a bunch of assets to BP, but Phillips appears to be a standalone company from BP.

Amoco is DEFINATELY wholly owned by BP, as you type in Amoco.com. and the BP website comes up, and you can read about their merger.

Where did you get the date from B4M? I still like the info, but I want all the facts.

Been thinking about this thread, and wanted to bring it back to the top. I have been buying from the companies that don't buy from the middle east, and have been telling everyone I can to do the same. Let's quit supporting countries that abhor our existence.

Who does WaWa get there gas from? They have the cheapest gas in town.

You would think that the companies that do not import from the Middle East would publicize that fact. You know 1/3 of the Country would switch to there brand.

I normally buy CITGO or Phillips but all marinas are Texaco here in Oklahoma. I don't know how they got a lock on the market, but there it is!
